Here’s a weird one for you…
First time I activate the power folder mirrors, driver’s side works fine. Passenger side doesn’t stop at the appropriate place and continues to rotate until the mirror has rotated completely out.
Activate the power fold mirrors again, they both close all the way. Unfold a second time, they both stop in the proper spot.
Can anyone help me to understand how these things know when to stop or how they are geared?
Backstory….for whatever reason, I went through a car wash one day and this issue started. The passenger side mirror would always over-rotate, no matter what. I messed around with it for an hour and finally got it to stop in the proper out position. But now, it requires the double fold to properly work (again, just the passenger side, driver side works as expected)
I’ve pulled the battery, “reset” the mirrors by pushing the passenger one halfway and hearing the “clunk” (although I’m afraid to try anything else because at least it sort of works at the moment). Like I said, it took me over an hour just to get to the point I’m at now.
Any ideas? I can create a video and post it if that’s easier to demonstrate what’s going on.
Help me out and I will happily have a a 6 pack of your beer of choice delivered to your house (yes, I’m serious)
