Poor fuel economy

OP don't feel bad man I'm averaging 9.6 miles to the gallon (90% highway) I'm getting about 220-240 miles out of every 24 or so gallons (while half the time I'm towing a 4500lbs trailer) I'm not all to upset about it yea sure I wanna keep more benjys in my pocket every time I fill up but this truck isn't designed to be fuel consumption friendly. It's made more for the working class citizen, made to be used for what it's made to do not seat you inside in ultra comfort and fashion that's more Range Rover category. If You want MPG's then maybe a wagon w/ 3 row seating or something like a venza should be what you really want.

although made to be a work force...Ford already new that it would be more than likely a soccer mom's vehicle and more than likely not used in that manner

Definitely don't want a wagon or a crossover... Lol I guess I have no room to complain the Hummer I use to slug around in got about 7 MPG... I just wish I could save little extra money you know?

I had an issue a few weeks ago with my inner wheel end locking one of the front half shafts in a few months ago. My fuel economy has been better since I fixed that. Make sure you aren't spinner those in 2wd

So to check those I would just jack up the truck on all sides and hit the gas in 2WD?

I average about 10 or 11 mpg in city driving, but it's with a lot of stuck traffic. I'm sure I could get it up to about 14-15 mpg if I didn't have to deal with traffic, so depends a bit on the conditions you run in...

Lift the front wheels only, keep it in 2wd, start the exp then see if the front wheels spin freely by hand or if the axles are sticking.

this is exactly what i did. then put it in 4wd and see if both front wheels lock in
