Possible Bad Injectors 2005 5.4

I have a 2005 XLT with 5.4/143k miles. Last year I had the Phasers, lash adjusters replaced to take care of the knocks in the engine and it has run like new until just about a week ago when a new "ticking" sound started to come from the passenger side of the engine. I know the injectors make a tick but this is louder than normal and the driver's side is fine. The engine is sluggish and will backfire if I stomp the gas. Plugs and COPS were all changed within the last 30k miles or so. I know there is a problem with the injectors failing in the open or close position. Has anyone had this problem? If so, did they make a louder than normal ticking sound? I'm thinking this is my problem but wanted someone to chime in who may have had this problem.

May want to check plugs. They will make a ticking, if one is loose.

I know some 2005 F150s and Expeditions were affected by injectors going bad (staying stuck). I think, though, that they sent you a letter, though if you were affected.
