power running board sometimes does not work!

2018 October purchased limited. The driver side running boards sometimes does not retrieve properly. Sometimes close the door more heavily can fix the problem, sometimes does not.

Does not retrieve properly means that when you close the door, first it retrieves back and then immediately it comes back to his original place.

I want to know if this kind of problem is included in warrant. It is pretty annoying. Always closing the door heavily is going to break the car some day.

I have been experiencing similar issues and found it was mostly dirt and debris. You need to occasionally power wash and lubricate with a penetrating lubricant.

Yep, seems to be known issue. A moving part that gets plenty of "road spray" directly on it. Just clean and lubricate. I've seen a number of YouTube Videos on getting that working again.

Plus if you take it to the dealer, they often offer to replace the running board which is a $1200 part. :O
