Hello, been a lurker for a while and found much info here...but I'm stumped on this one.

I have a 1999 xlt. The power windows went down and wouldn't go back up. After reading some of the posts here. I was able to jump the Accessory Relay out and got the windows back up. The next day I bumped on window switch and one window went down, tried to jump it out again with no luck. I checked the window switches in the door and I have no voltage. I checked the ground screw near the passenger kick plate, it's clean and no rust. I checked all fuses and cant find any blown. Also checked the 30a delayed accessory fuse 601 with a meter, it's good.

Everything else works, no radio/door locks/lights etc. issues.

Any ideas in what else I could try?

Thanks

Well some are gonna laugh at me but today I found out the GEM module can mess with your mind on a lot of items in a vehicle. My main issue was the 4x4 not engaging when I wanted it to but rather would if it decided to allow me to select it. I had some other issues like my drivers side window not going up for 2 days then all of a sudden it started working just fine and my rear wiper doing the same thing. Well that GEM module behind the fuse box jacks with all that crap and your abs and so on (yup had an ABS light on forever). After taking it to the shop numerous times, getting a bit "pissy" with the guy he took the time for a $20 bet to rip my lower dash out, removed the e-brake pedal and some other crap and ran the tests that would confirm beyond a doubt it was a GEM module going nuts. Several tests have to be done first to isolate it to the last couple but in the end it required checking ohms and something having to be .5 and another if that passed had to be checked to make sure it was under 10,000 something, mine was at 14,000 and that confirmed I was 4,000 over and that the module while working at times was pooping out on me and needed to be replaced. to be sure I was not being messed with I called FORD right there and asked about this and the service guy did in fact confirm this test as well as the internet that the mechanic got the test from for his snap on programmer. So I am sure there is others things to check first but before you get to the point of thinking that setting the cruise and letting it fly off a bridge would make you feel better, maybe get that GEM module checked as well.

Last night I ran a long wire from the battery to positive wire on the door switch and was able to put the windows back up, so I believe my issue is no power at the door switch.
