I’ve only owned my platinum max for a couple of days and I’m trying to figure out if my pre-collision system is working. It says it’s on on the gauge stack and I have active braking checked as well, but I haven’t received any warnings yet. I have braked late a couple of times but no noise or vibration. I’m not used to driving something this big so maybe I’m just to cautious but there have been a few times where I would have at least expected some beeping, am i missing something?

Can't help you since I stay away from most of the new technology but the thread title made me chuckle. Pre collision question..... BRAKE!!!

Reminds me of one of our old sayings.... STOP, GO, Crawl back into your mother's womb...just don't hit anything.
(also interchangeable with "JUST DO SOMETHING!!")

Fords dont "vibrate" when the collision alert activates, thats a gm thing. Fords system works last second, it works but it works when it thinks an accident is imminent.

Got it, I know the car can sense things farther out because it seems to do a good job with its adaptive cruise control My wife's Armada is much more sensitive, and I would kind of prefer being warned more than less. Hopefully I never need it!

I've had the warning go off but have never had the system start braking. I have both my Expedition and F150 set to max sensitivity. This occasionally alarms me if I have a car turn across my direction of travel. I have also had it go off when I was approaching a red light and had a car from another lane decide to pull in front of me.

My F150 also has alerts based on my speed and the distance to the vehicle ahead of me. I wish I could activate this on my Expedition.

This particular issue (the one with the different colored warnings) came up in another thread. Some folks can get it to show up, others (including myself) can not. My guess is it's something related to whatever package you have (auto cruise control vs not vs something else).

Who knows.

In Southern California, this would be all red, all the time during daylight hours

Driving 25m apart at highway speeds? Only azzholes and functional alcoholic housewives on benzos do that
