Despite my strong belief that you get what you pay for, I decided to pick up some of those flares on ebay. You know, the ones that are $150 shipped. And you know, I'm pleasantly surprised.

They aren't perfect, I probably should have cleaned them up and had them professionally painted. But... I'm just tired of spending money right now, so they will have to do.

I've heard people say that they were hard to install and needed lots of tweaking to get right. Well, my experience was way different. There were no instructions, and I had to go out and buy the double sided trim tape at the auto parts store, but other than that they went right on without any drama. Granted, it was 90 degrees out, and they sat in the sun for an hour or so, so they may have been more flexible than usual.

I wasn't thrilled with the packaging though.

I mean, a box would have been nice.

I get the feeling that these were factory seconds or something like that.

They look nice! Seem to line up well from what I can tell in the pics. Were they hard to put on?

Well, I could have saved $5 on my Plastidip fenders and just bought those. looks great. So they are just taped on?

They screw on using stock bolts from the bottom, but they do tape on across the tops.
The small pieces on the rear doors are held on by tape alone. But keep in mind it's that super strong double sided tape used for automotive trim.

I do have to say that I hate the running boards much less with the flares on. I just can't bring myself to spend the cash for the deployable steps though.

You don't think the fuel cap would look like Cindy Crawford's mole if it were painted black?

good point on the mole...do a outline...just before the edge so it shows white on the very edge...not too thin...not too big...just a thought...didnt say it was a good one...

I think that the next set of rubber will be 36 x 13.5. An inch bigger both ways to help fill those wheel wells a bit more.

First Ross wanted you to paint the bumper white, now he wants a black gas door. That is one confused individual hahahaha......

Love the flares dude!

Looks great, Tony. I have the exact same flares (I know I told you about them when you were considering them). Anyway, sounds like you really lucked out with the fitment. I think I might have to pull mine off and reinstall them; mine don't fit nearly as perfectly. I can't believe yours didn't come in a box; mine did. Also, what did you use to finish them? Paint, armorall, etc...

I am not sure I like them. Maybe if they were painted white?! Something just not quite right for me. But obviously I am in the minority here. :)

I think your bumper looks great with the contrasting black. Gave you expy a bad a$$ look. But I like your expy pre-fender flares better.
