I just picked up a 2016 XLT 4WD with Sync 3. Has anyone had a problem when starting it, the radio is on a different station/source than when you last turned it off? I have a 2013 Taurus SHO with Sync 2 (Sync with MyFordTouch) and it always stays on the channel that was playing when I turned it off.

Any hints on what to do to fix this? I've looked in the owners manual and have found nothing.

Thanks in advance,
John

This is only a guess. Is the clock still keeping time? If not you have a problem with the power lead that supplies power when the radio is turned off. That keeps the last station in memory.

This is a "feature" not a defect. :) My '17 with 20K miles does it at random times always dropping Sirius for an AM frequency with no signal. Not sure it's done it since I put a new battery in the truck though. All my Ford SUVs have eaten batteries every couple of years.

MY 2016 does the exact same thing as Chuck, intermittently. Didn't happen before I upgraded the software recently.

My wife's '16 XLT with Sirius does this regularly, but not every time. I'd say it goes to FM 60% of time and AM 40% of time. It always on Sirius when shut off. No obvious reason why it does it. It can be sitting for 10 days or 10 minutes and do it.

Chuck, do you still have the motherRussia image you loaded onto your system? I'd like to tear it apart for hidden bots

I'm showing a Sync3.4-19274-cyanlabs.zip file here in storage dated 6Jan20. It's just under 1G zipped so I have no idea how to get it to you. Also not sure if this is the first file or the later and I assume current version. I think it's the first version based on date and I recall downloading the later version directly onto little USP drives (whatever they're called) and those have been reused.

The files are (were?) linked here which may be a better way of getting them. A search of the forum for cyanlabs may find them.

Try a google (etc.) search: (without the quotes) "cyanlabs site:www.expeditionforum.com"
