No, it’s not obvious, you are correct!
For the front, you will need two angled raptor skid plate mounting brackets (eBay. I recommend some knock offs as they will need bending, slightly, as the angle of the resulting mounted skid plate is a lot shallower).
Then the hard part is the rear mounting. I welded up some brackets from 1/8 steel bar to mount from the existing bolt holes in the frame to the skid plate. It’s several inches in and an inch or so back. The frame bolts hold the crappy molded material deflector cover, just use those bolts to the magic bracket you eventually make (!).
The front of the skid plate tucks under the front fascia, bending it down slightly. You can trim it back a bit, but is not necessary. Trimming it results in the front being a bit less rigid. I keep meaning to add some shaped aluminum strips under to add rigidity back, but it hasn’t been a problem.
