Well lucky for you I have all the answers! Your transmission needs motorcraft tranny fluid or Mercon ATF (automatic transmission fluid). But since you are probably way past the warranty it is safe to put ATF in your transmission. Check the fluid level while your engine is running and in park. If the fluid level is low add fluid in half quart Incraments. After adding fluid to your transmission, cycle the gears from park all the way thru to 1 or low, a few times to allow all the fluids to circulate through the transmission components.
Now let's tackle that T-case! The T-case (transfer case) has two drain plugs with a head to fit a half in drive ratchet into it. The lower on is for draining your t case and the o e that's about 6 inches above it is the "fill plug". To check the t case fluid level, remove the fill plug slowly. If fluid starts dripping out, then tighten it up cuz Ur full! Other wise remove the plug completely, if fluid does not drip out then you need to add ATF FLUID!!! not gear oil. Your transfer case holds 2 quarts of fluid if you decide to do a flush and fill.
Now on to the rear diff! The rear diff (differential) is located between the rear wheels and has the same type fill plug, there's only one this time and it's located near the top of the dif cover. The process for checking the dif is the same as checking the t case. Except this time if you need to add fluid you need to use 75W140 SYNTHETIC!!!!! very important in the rear dif. The rear dif holds any where from 5.5-6 pints of fluid. IF YOU USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN SYNTETIC IT WILL EAT YOUR RVT SEAL. that's wha keeps the fluid in.
And finally, the front dif requires 75W90 and can be a synthetic or natural blend.
Well that's all the help I can give you, oh and the capacity for the front dif is 3.5-4 pints , the transmission takes 14 quarts if you have a 4R70W, 15 for the E4OD 2x4 and 15.5 for the E4OD 4x4. But if you plan on doing a flush and fill on the tranny you will need to take it to a professional to have ALL the fluid removed and replaced.
GOOD LUCK!!! :)

great post ShotgunSamurai8

Pretty much covered it all. Had my 06 serviced with at a close friends shop a few months ago and we used 75w90 synthetic on the differentials. Can't remember what classification on the ATF for the transfer case and transmission, but he bought the FORD/Motorcraft fluids.

Good luck
