I am going to be rebuilding one of my 5.4 2v motors.

I am looking for good resources/books for the torque specs and sequence of the rebuild information.

Thank you for all your help

Dealer CDs are best bet, available online for around $20.00.

The 5.4l has bad timing chain/tensioners(passenger side). They rattle/ make noise, from the chain rubbing on front cover. You may not need a total rebuild. The oil pan will be full of debris. The 5.4l is despised by most mechanics.

You can usually find copies of the factory service manuals on ebay.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

I was able to find a copy of the service manual on eBay.

I got both books and a factory wiring manual with diagrams for 40 bucks.

My son and I rebuilt the 4.6L in his 02 Mustang two years ago. Basically the same as the 5.4L. I love the modular platform. Very easy rebuilt relatively speaking. I can't exactly walk you through it, but take your time and if you're mechanically inclined you should be fine. I've rebuilt other engines so most of it I just knew, but this book helped me out quite a bit in a few spots.
