Recommended a/c compressor

I have a 06 eddie bauer, I have done the a/c compressor 3 times in the 6 yrs I have had it.

Once I used a shop and two times I did it. I used compressor of Amazon (UAC) and I completely flushed system.

Now this compressor is making noise again. Just curious if anyone else is having same issue? This time I am going to get a motorcraft compressor in hopes it's because of the brand.

Are the compressors coming complete with the clutch fan attached?If their nit shimmed right, too tight could be a possibility. It's possible their just sub level items, made in China or wherever. Remanufactured items have always been a gamble, even 20-30 years ago. If you have a shop that rebuild yours with quality parts, that would be one way to go. The other is to find a new one. Is it possible your belts too tight? That would burn them out quick. I would think any repair shop with half a brain would have adjusted it right though. Is it possible something where the compressor mounts is slightly bent, putting stress on the pulley and bushings/bearings. Getting a brand new Ford unit would be the route to go though. Check Ebay, sometimes you can find a deal on a Ford close out.Moose.

Yes they are coming with the clutch installed, i would have thought even though they were not the most expensive i would still get more than a summer or two. I am going to go with motorcraft next.

Your truck seems to be damaging every cpmpressor you replace. Your condenser may also need replacing.

Have you found any metallic debris in the orifice tube?
After flushing how much oil did you put in the system?
Did you prime the compressor with oil before installation?

No metallic debris in the system, and it flushes with issues like it's clogged. I not sure specifically of the oil charge as it's been over a year now, but I put in the recommended amount after a flush. Also I do prime the compressors as recommended by the manufacturer.

Thank you for the responses, hopefully it's these cheap compressors. I don't know about the condenser, it flushes with no problems.

Also i do go in the rear and flush all the lines.

After the new compressor is on the vacuum is good and it works fine for a while. Although they never seem to work as good as original.

It's been a while since I've done any ac work. But I remember adding the can of freon with the pag oil in it, then usually two more cans and all was cold. It is possible that you are getting sub par units. If it was me I'd pick the brains of ac specialists in your area to be sure theirs nothing your overlooking. It's such a crap shoot on these vehicles when to use dealer only parts, and when not to. Back when I did any ac or cooling we used to use four seasons brand. Couldn't tell you the quality these days. Again look for new not reman parts.

On these vehicles, you must REPLACE both expansion valves, the drier, and the condenser. Rock Auto has these for cheap! I paid less than $150 for all three of those. Take apart the system and flush everything out. You should break down any joint in the system and use a flush tool with acetone or the recommended flushing agent to clean it out. Be aware, acetone will eat away any seals, so make sure you replace any seals that come into contact with the acetone. One of the more important things as well is do not overfill with freon or PAG oil. Only use the recommended amount of oil (14oz for dual systems) and the recommended amount of freon (54 oz for dual systems).

The reason you must replace the condenser is simple: You have one inlet and one outlet on the condenser, but it splits into a bunch of channels as it crosses the radiator grid. When you flush, you will clean out a few of the channels, but some residue will be left behind.

You can also add an inline filter to our systems to help keep the trash out of the compressor, but you will need to evacuate and recharge your system to change the filter, unless you add valves directly in front and behind the filter. If you make sure to clean it out well, you should get a pretty decent life out of the compressor.

Also, one more thing, make sure you actually vacuum the system down with a decent vacuum pump.

Unless the condenser has a hole it it or it's clogged internally there really isn't any reason to change the condenser but flushing is definitely something that you should do to the system.

There is no way to adequately flush our condensers. If you ever had debris in the system, you have some in the condenser, no matter how many times you flush. These systems have no filter to keep debris out of the compressor and it will kill any and all compressors you install.

2007 Eddie Bauer expedition started blowing hot air then started over heating 3 weeks ago. We live 115 degree weather.
What we have done.
1 mechanic 1226$
Replaced fan clutch
Thermostats
Replaced hoses ignition coil
Spark plug
Ac recharge
I didn't take it back cause I asked for him to fix it and he did this and charged a bunch. And then gave me a list of thousands of dollars of work that(needed) to be done!! Ugh
1 Friend 700$(We gave him 200$ labor..
Compressor
Belt
Desiccant
We
Pressure washed the radiator..

Now we're thinking the condenser, tsb and/ or radiator?

How would we know there's debris?
Would getting a new condenser help?
