Ford must have gone back to the ‘96 Probe designs for this feature - In dash coin holder. It is like future meets the past with the wireless phone charger so close to this coin holder.
Anyways, does anyone out in the interwebs have a good replacement/ modification for this? It’s taking up some pretty valuable real estate that doesn’t justify the coins it holds. 6581E424-5943-4D68-AE31-0768C947CFDC.jpeg

Thanks! Yeah, I saw this posting a while back. It’s a good idea- I had asked for additional photos but never heard anything more.
I’m just curious if anyone has done anything cool with it.
I’d like to find a blank plate and maybe install a switch for a light bar or courtesy horn.

Just found this picture.19_FRD_EPD_FL8629718.tif.jpg

Looks like the trailer backup assist goes where the coin holder is at. The coin holder is just a cheap fill.

Yes, the other Expy I was looking at had the trailer assist package, but since I’d never use it, I opted out.
I think I will try and find s blank plate I can snap in and eventually add an accessory switch.

If the coin holder cutout matches the power outlet on the passenger side, you may even be able to add an additional power outlet on the driver's side. I know the F150 has a 115V outlet on the passenger side, but that may be more complicated depending on where the inverter is located.

My solution

I made a slight modification to add a magnetic holder to mine

Had found someone on Etsy selling replacements for older model ford, worked with him to get this one right

That is very cool. It would be great for some aftermarket solutions with different options, a phone holder, a switch plate, even a storage slot.

Do you have to stick a metal plate on your cell phone? I like the idea but not sure about the plate on a otterbox.

I just slide the metal plate in between my phone and case. I’ve been using a mag mount for several years, and this has never been an issue.

Thanks, I would have never guessed the magnet would be that strong.
