Alternator going out. Any reccomendations on parts? Im probably going to replace it this weekend. Nothing crazy, just a reliable replacement. :893karatesmiley-thu

Where is the belt tensioner on a 1st gen? (Dumb quetion but i haven't looked before)

i'd highly reccomend that if your alt is going out...buy another alt...lol go to autozone or some shop like that and buy replacement...too easy...the tensioner will be a handle looking thing...follow the belt and look at each point where the belt touches...you'll see the arm...and thats it

Check Rock Auto for the alt. Tensioner is to the left of the water pump, pass side on the 4.6. Based on your mileage I'd change the belt, tensioner and water pump while I was there if they haven't been changed already. Better safe than sorry.

motorcraft unless youre going to go 200 amp...buy from tascafordparts in the vendor section...i believe ford has the 110 (4.6) and the 130 (5.4)

Where can i get a motorcraft one? Do dealerships have them? Thanks by the way.

im getting a H/O Alt and mounting bracket to have dual alts. gotta power them vampire killing flood lights. and have the bump in my system up lol

Why don't you just do a 200 amp alt...I have a system and screen...soon to be screens and amps...and I will be good with my 200 amp alt...i'll be running 0 Ga with 1600 rms and 4Ga 400 rms...i'll add another battery...that will be all
