Well guys, I've swapped out 4 different sets of front shocks, two sets of motorcraft value line, at $50.00 each not cheap. Bilsteins 4600, now original Ford fronts. I'm going to pull bilstein 4600 rears, and install oem ford units we found on Ford parts locater. Every time I changed shocks it seemed to get worse. It rides ok for first 5 minutes then gets rough bouncy, and basicly feels like an old 1950's farm truck. My SUV is a 2000 4x4 expy. Mileage is only 79k. Ball joints and everything front and rear is tight or new. I think all this jacking up and down put a strain on the rear springs and front torsion bars. Nobody seems to have an answer. I'm usually one that's handing out advice on this column, but I'm open to any advice if someone had same problem with their SUV or f150. Oh by the way I've got low hour shocks for sale if any body might need. I'm kinda shock heavy now. Thanks Moose.

You can lower the front end suspension height by adjusting the key (bolt) on the rear of the torsion bar to soften the ride Ottherwise if it recurs, inspect the splines of both torsion bars for wear.

Will do thanks, it does look like it's higher than other 4x4's I've seen. I guess this height makes it worse the longer you drive. The only thing I'm wondering is with big 285/50/r20's, do I need it that high on adjustment to clear? Well we'll find out, thanks Doc!
