Hey guys, my 05 EB 4x4 is having the startup rattle. Any recommendations on good shops in or around Columbia,sc area? Thanks

Can you describe the noise a little more please, where in the engine do you think it's coming from? I'm not from your area (Ohio) but I'd like to help

When I started the vehicle it would rattle for about 2-3 seconds then go away. It sounded like it was coming from front of engine. I took it to a shop nearby that had good reviews. He listened and agreed that it sounded like an issue relating to the timing chains. He told me to try an engine oil cleaner as it does have 181k miles.
BG products was the brand, it was a two part cleaner. Pour first one in and let idle for 30 min. Then change oil and filter and add second can to new oil. I also switched from motorcraft 5w-20 synthetic to Penzoil 5w-30 full synthetic. Haven't heard the issue since, so hopefully all is good and was just dirty oil pump. Thanks for the response.

Np! Was going to say check oil filter or water pump! Mine would rattle on start up then go away as well. Just had my serpentine belt, water pump, water pump hoses and belt as well as oil filter and high milage cleanser care and sealer oil put in her and she roars again
