Ebay. They have the keys and transponders there all the time. I think it shows you how to program it in the manual. The only thing you have to do is find someone how will cut it.

To program a PATS key on your vehicle it requires you have 2 all ready programed keys before you can program it yourself. Otherwise, it's off to the dealer to have it programed.

spare keys

When I bought my 99 EB, the dealer only had one key. So, am I pretty much out of luck on getting a spare key?

If you only have one key, you have to get the second one programed at a dealer, so your best bet is to just get the key there too. If you have 2 keys already, there is a procedure (I think it is in the manual) that describes how to program additional keys. If not in th emanual, it is easily found here or on the internet. I think I paid about $100 to get one programed about 4 yrs ago.

I went today to get a key at the dealer for two reasons. One I need a
spare and two I can't get the vehicle to start and a possible problem
is a defective Pats key. Since I only have one key the dealer said
I have to bring the vehicle in (which of course won't start).

For future reference some hardware stores can now make these keys for much less than the dealer. I had one cut a Ace Hardware for I want to say $60. Much cheaper than the $120 the dealer wanted.
