Hey guys... After coming back from a trip to pick up my 2000 Ford expedition XLT from the long term parking lot, I found the rear hatch/tailgate/liftgate lock cylinder missing. Someone had broken in. Fortunately, I don't keep anything in the truck so he didn't get anything. I tried to locate the lock cylinder but couldn't find it. The body retainer clip was all that was left behind.

I got a replacement uncoded cylinder and barrel and finished coding the lock with the same key. I am trying to find a parts diagram to get the lever/plastic clip that will need to be clamped in to operate the lock mechanism but cannot find it. Does anyone know what type of plastic lever/clip is used to operate the rod? If anyone can post an assembly diagram, that will be much appreciated!

Thank you.

So the Ford dealer can't print the rear lock diagram? I have same year vehicle, and anytime I go by my local Serramonte Ford, my guys can always print a blow-up of any parts I might need. Getting the parts is a different story. 50 percent of the time, they've been long gone. The dealer has a parts locater, so sometimes another dealer in the country still has your part, and would love to ship it to you. The other option is get blow-up from dealer, and go on eBay. I've had good luck with my vehicle as well as friends cars.
