Got a 98 4.6 was starting a new intake r/r.
Broke off a small hose with a metal fitting down around the base of the Throttle body.
It actually rusted.
I need to investigate EXACTLY where it goes or its function, but I am guessing a TB warmer. ?
Checked YT for manifold replacement, never see anything about it.
Maybe some experienced folk out there more might know right off the top. ?

Thanks
JP

S my mistake it is a 5.4 ! orasn’t anyone ever seen the 2” high coolant temp sensor wthat rises up from the intake, connects a wwwesmall coolant hose that runs back to the T B ?

This coolant sensor riser fitting has a “ J” looking hose connection ( that again connects a small 5/16 coolant hose that runs to the back of the intake connects to a junction.,
Ford was pretty proud of this little ditty that allowed the 5.4 Expedition to run smooth as silk in -40 degree freeze, quick warm up, and great interior heat.
But….. I do not know the name of the fitting.
Anyone ?
