As I've said, this week we started metal works, to change all those things, that had disappeared.
Firtst of all we've bought the right steel sheet:

On the last picture you can also see replaced rocker (threshold).
You won't believe, but the rockers have been taken from another car (Attention! Russian car - Volga (new one, of course).
The reason is that there is no fresh Expies of that age, so we had to do this.

Good stuff.

Taking metal from other cars (and appliances like washing machines!) is an old past time I am familiar with. My old SJ413 was more General Electric than Suzuki when I sold it. :)

Yeah, that's right.
But, partially we forced to act like this because of lack of stuff in good condition and of the high prices in case of brining it from USA.
But, we love this cars, cause it is smth. true and with an odour of Freedom against those cars, that you can by here, in Russia.

Decision is to change the driver's door too. Too much rust on the cut edge.

It looks like that the best solution would be just to change the whole caroserie (body) taking it from another car.:))

Hi, everybody!
It's almost 1,5 Months of silence and I'm here:))
Actually, the car is 98% done and I think I can share the result with you now.

First of all I would like to thank all those of you, who supported me with your valuable advices and comments.
Here, in Russia, it would be difficult to do anything without it.

So, let's continue:
Finally, after exploration of the car condition, we've come to the conclusion, that it is necessary to change rear door and driver's one because of their rusty condition.

Parallel to this, we have started preparation for painting the car.
There were quite a lot of areas on the car that needed to bring to life.
For those, who didn't remember how it was looked like before:

A little bit less, but almost the same on the left side of the car.
The car was significantly dissambled and shaved:))

Then began the creative process. As you may remember from the topic title, it was about painting the car in two colors. And now it is time to decide how to do it properly.
Фе first, door handle was painted in order to see if the chosen color is correct:
