Just picked up a pair of tow hooks from Harbor Freight. Any thoughts on placement on the front of a Gen 1 4x4? I'm trying not to jack up the front valance. I haven't even looked if the there are existing mounting holes yet. I think I'll let the truck warm up in the garage first.

Well if it is a 4x4 from the factory, it should have holes cut into the valance where there should already be tow hooks...? Look at pics of any first gen including mine and there should already be tow hooks, unless someone took them off of yours to mount a brush guard or something. Look at the pic I attached to see where they normally are. You can see them just under the fog lights. Ignore the beat up front, hit a deer a couple years back and haven't gotten around to repairing it yet haha.
