Update on my issue, got it to the dealer and they pulled the pan and it was full of metal so new transmission is needed. Kick in the shorts for sure, just what I needed to do is dump $7K into a 2018 vehicle that is overpriced as it is.
How do you know the pan was full of metal? You were onsite, or they showed you a picture of it?

I recently had my transmission repair done at 67,000 due to internal 4th gear failure so had to pay $7500 as the vehicle was out of warranty. As it was out of warranty I did take it to a local transmission mechanic who was well recommended and at one time worked for Ford many years ago at a dealer. As mentioned above, he doesn't see that many Chevrolet's as he does Ford. The local transmission mechanic did do the updates to the transmission as opposed to what the Ford dealer would have done and that's just slip in a repaired core that who knows what problems waiting to happen

Dropping off my wife's 2018 tonight for the trans shifting hard and going into false neutral. No codes in the PCM or TCM but I'm hoping they actually do something (truck is under CPO warranty). I'll update when I hear back.

I don't know if this is the right thread or not, but some of these comments sound familiar.

2019 Expedition FX4
52,000 miles
Build date 08/2019

Today I kicked down the accelerator to merge and it didn't go anywhere. I heard what sounded like popcorn popping? For a few seconds, I had no throttle. Some red message popped up on screen but I was too startled to remember what it said. After a few seconds, everything went back to normal.

No idea, but very concerned and don't know where to start!

If you have one of those expensive bi-directional vehicle scanners, hook one up and see if any codes are stored

Got a call from the dealer today. They verified the shifting issues and said the trans needs to come out for inspection. We have to wait a week or two before we'll hear anything else- they only have one transmission tech and 13 jobs in front of ours. Out of curiosity I asked if they were all 10 speed transmissions and was told no.
