Update all versions of Ford Sync 3 to the latest Sync 3.4

Just uploaded the newest update. Noticed nothing earth-shattering at this point.

Nice, was curious if anyone has tried 3.4.21194. haven't undertaken it yet myself but watching for issues, saw a few folks having issues on the CL forums.

This ver should fix the SXM / Travel Link issue. Ford should release it officially in a few weeks.

It loaded pretty quickly so I figured it was a tiny tweak. I haven't noticed any differences whatsoever.

After reading all the posts I had been hesitant to update the Sync 3. However, today i finally decided to update and went well. 34 minutes to complete the update

I updated to 3.4.21194 for the Navi 2020 NA maps. All is working perfectly. Took 25 mins for the upgrade.

I think sync 3.4 may have resolved the infotainment screen being abnormally bright when you get in the car at night. Previously the resolution was to dim or brighten the dash lights, then it would also dim the infotainment screen. I had forgotten about the issue until I drove a 2016 f150 last week. I haven’t had it happen to my expedition for a long time.

My version of Sync 3.4 is build 21265. Undated it 28 Oct 21.

Completely erased all my saved GPS data but that seems to be the only liability. All the dash illumination is the same intensity.

Just for clarity, any of these updates have the risk of killing any presets, whether that is radio or Nav.

@Lou Have you looked at the ford blueish version in night mode yet? You should be able to set it in settings to stay on the dark theme regardless of the ambient light.

I use the blueish night mode all the time. It seems to make things sharper and easier to see.

What is the new version? The Ford site is telling me that I am up to date:

SYNC3 v3.4.21265 is in my 2017. Undated it 28 Oct 21. Not checked for anything newer since then.

Current Version available via CyanLabs is 3.4.22020, it is an app package update over 21194, so that is all.

I don't think there was a whole lot that was changed (prob just background stuff or so it appears) and for sure no new maps.

Apps is basically the Radio/Nav/Phone part of Sync, not the base OS, but the functions. I have not come across a list of things updated.

So is there still not a fix for having the radio logos and album art show up on HD Radio or SXM on my 18? I haven’t updated yet as I was hoping for a fix. I don’t like blanks where something should be and it would bother me knowing it’s missing.

I'm on the latest 3.4 release and I have the art on SXM but not HD radio. It is annoying that when I get into my RAM it's there but not in my Ford.

There is. You have to Flash the APIM with the newest code. In my opinion, not worth the risk for the small gain. The APIM is not cheap.

I'm on the latest 3.4 release and I have the art on SXM but not HD radio. It is annoying that when I get into my RAM it's there but not in my Ford.

Rob, you have the newer APIM code, because you are on a 2021, so the software update should have given you everything. You should also have calm screen also. If you don't wondering if you got an early 21 with an older APIM code. If you have FORSCAN, and can give me the details on the APIM we can confirm.
