So, I've done a few things to my truck to the transmission in hopes of making it last longer. I am wondering if this has affected my towing capacity at all?
Interestingly enough, the truck did come with a transmission cooler, just a little guy down at the bottom of the radiator in front (maybe 8x4x1.5"). I don't think that means anything, right?
I added a Hayden model 405
I plumbed the filter kit on the output side of the trans before any coolers, and the temp has never gone above 175* while towing, usually stays about 120-140 while normally driving.
I have 3.55 gears, and I've converted to coil spring suspension, and have installed a Hayes Energize III Trailer Brake Controller.
What should I be able to tow with weight distribution? I think without 3.73's, the rating for 3.55's was 7900, does that seem like a good number to now say is safe to tow?
