So, I've done a few things to my truck to the transmission in hopes of making it last longer. I am wondering if this has affected my towing capacity at all?

Interestingly enough, the truck did come with a transmission cooler, just a little guy down at the bottom of the radiator in front (maybe 8x4x1.5"). I don't think that means anything, right?

I added a Hayden model 405
transmission cooler, a B&M Remote Filter Kit, and a GlowShift Transmission Temp Gauge.

I plumbed the filter kit on the output side of the trans before any coolers, and the temp has never gone above 175* while towing, usually stays about 120-140 while normally driving.

I have 3.55 gears, and I've converted to coil spring suspension, and have installed a Hayes Energize III Trailer Brake Controller.

What should I be able to tow with weight distribution? I think without 3.73's, the rating for 3.55's was 7900, does that seem like a good number to now say is safe to tow?

Yes it does have the trans and oil coolers (2 extra at bottom of rad), I have bypassed the small factory trans cooler and gone with the large aftermarket one. Does the fact that it had both signify anything specific or was it just optioned?

The temp stays at 130-140 unless I go up a hill or something, which is when it climbed slightly, when towing...

How does the towing rating fare?

P.S. I did see your install pics and such, that's where I got the idea of a remote filter kit and magnets on the filter :)

I have not done any towing yet with my 2012 with the extra gears that my 03 so badly needed. I never had to use a lower gear or lock out before when towing 5000 lbs. In flat Florida it's rarely a problem. I am going to tow to W. Va. soon and just wondered if others have had to use 4th or 5th or the tow/haul mode. I know with the trailer and 5 adults and luggage, gear the truck should be near max/gross
