so this week I haven’t been driving the expy like a rental and have been accelerating like a normal driver, what a difference in MPGs lol. I’ve been doing this experiment since my recent oil change and have been watching it rise and rise.

What's your drive like? I can only dream of getting that kind of mileage. Right now the lie-o-meter is sitting at 13.7.....

My drive is normaly 50/50 city and highway. Not usually heavy city traffic but more regular suburban/rural roads. I’d say change your air filter, mine was getting about that and just the air filter was an instant 1.5ish MPG.

Are you stuck in 4x4 auto? I leave mine in 2wd. I assume 4x4 auto is similar to fulltime awd which might lower your MPG? I'm new to expeditions so correct me...anyway,
I had a 4 hour mostly highway run with some stop and go for three separate accidents on the interstate...averaging 60mph because of traffic...but driving really easy today:

That’s pretty accurate. Drove from Virginia Beach to Charlottesville, VA and averaged 23.1. Cruise control 67mph. Seems to be her sweet spot

Not stuck just have the knob set there. this truck can break 18 MPG on a long highway run but that’s about my max it will achieve in 2HI. As of now the 17.2 is averaged between city and highway half and half driving.

I left one of the "mileage options" on the left side display as it was from new....and my mileage has crept up to my present Mileage-since-new of 17.9 mpg based on over 25,000 miles of driving. not bad considering that I have approx 2 dozen red lights each direction of my 92 mile daily commute........

Most individual tanks are now returning very close to 19mpg and that's with the AC set to "auto", the 4WD also set to Auto.....SWEET!!

Never hardly broke 13mpg with my two 5.4 Expys unless it was on a trip!

The best part is that I DO NOT PAY FOR MY GAS SO I DRIVE WITHOUT COST IN MIND!

Jeff
