Did her first oil change today. Didn't have a oil filter wrench and it was on tight. Finally got it. Anyone know of the benefit of full synthetic vs a blend? I did the blend but was curious.

Went to the You Pull It Yard today just to look around and just happen to look at this like mint 1995 Chevy Suburban no dents no rust, Said "run in" on the side of it but "trans was slipping" just decided to look inside cause the thing was so nice on the out side and seen this in there.

It's an older 2000 year Alpine I hope to make it fit in my dash, not really sure if it will or not took the stock radio out and put it up there looks like if i trim some off the side it might slid in there but if i trim it and it doesn't then the stock radio won't fit in like it did.

Wish it had an aux port but maybe i can add one ??

Why would you go through all the effort to add an old CD player to your dash? I'm going to guess that it's been at least 5 years since I've used a CD.

If you'd like, I can send you the tape player from my Expedition.

Why would you even need an AUX port? I listen to music and take phone calls all the time through my stereo- and it stays in my pocket the whole time thanks to Bluetooth.

I dont think a little bit of trimming will be that much effort BUT """ i get your point"""" yea blue tooth would be nice.i got many reason why i want to do this, hate a stock radio for one i also don't have a top notch cell phone i can hook blue tooth to as i don't understand all this new tech stuff.

I am old school.i dont mined the older head units in my mind Alpine these older ones are great and i still have bunches of cd's that's one reason, yea i still listen to cd's haha, i still have some great cd's that i love to listen to that can't be listen to on music apps or youtube or what ever that's another reason

The radio that's in there now is the "stock tape player" has a 6 disc changer in the console which i will be using. This Alpine deck has a 6 disc cd changer mode.another reason is why i want to install it is because The stock radio has very little settings, this one has a good bit of settings.i plan to hook up my old ass 2700 hundred watt amp and i can set the setting on radio for the amp.i got my old ass 2-12's that are older then 12 years but still good enough for me.it's a 1999 expo so "if i do install the radio" it will be one year newer then the truck. also i like how it lights up and goes along with the og factory lights on the dash.also i had Alpines cd players in my other cars and never had issues

This morning sucked, both my expy and my wife's Honda were dead this morning. There's nothing to jump a battery off of to start one or another so my genius mind came up with this gizmo in hopes it jumps the expy just enough to start and it sure did. It spiked the voltage from 8.9 to 12.0 instantly enough to start the truck. Though i did ruin a good power supply for an old baby monitor.

I got my parents and brother this: https://www.amazon.com/Emergency-Ro...?ie=UTF8&qid=1482419535&sr=8-8&keywords=Xp-10
For the motorcycles. I didn't pay anywhere close to that much though. Started my brother's 04 Cummins with no problem.

So you don't go to Walmart or McDonald's? How the F do you live?
I don't pay attention to those signs. If it's concealed, it's concealed. If for some long shot reason I need to use it in one of those places, you know what they say: it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Decided to trim down the bottom lip the the radio/heater mount bracket so the radio doesn't have that much gap on the bottom and i made a filler piece for the top gap using some plexiglass got to sand it down and paint it black i am going to epoxy it to the radio/heater mount bracket, wish i could find the exact color of the trim panel id repaint it that chip is starting to bug me and i develop 2 more today the f ing paint on these things are worthless, shit flakes right off even just looking at it lol

I know you guys could care less but thought id post the finished head unit install i don't need no damn dash kit :)

TOP PIC "with the gap' BOTTOM PIC "without gap" made filler panel yesterday for the top gap using a piece of plexiglas that i already had. Today i sanded it down and pop rivet on to the radio/heater control mount flush with the lip of the head unit, painted it flat black.I could have went as far as adding a coat of bondo/putty to smooth over that seem but it's good enough for me. i might add some kind of led light there or maybe custom sticker "White Lightning" or just leave it as is

Exactly. And I'll add, their "signs" don't trump your 2A rights. It IS legal to carry in these establishments. The caveat is that if they see you obviously you'll be asked to leave. You should comply immediately or you will be arrested for criminal trespass.

I like it best when the lights match the entire color of the interior.

I put in an interstate battery just now (850cca/1000ca) the old one wasn't dead but if I leave the keys in the on position without running the car that battery dies. It was a Napa gold (675cca/850ca) well under powered for what the truck requires.

I was out messing around in the shop and looked at the new DEPO fog lights I had bought and the yellow Lamin-x to wrap them.

The Lamin-x is kind of chitzy - only enough comes in the Expedition kit to cover the exposed lights in the bumper holes - not enough to wrap the entire glass light lenses.

I may do something else now 'cause that's going to bug me knowing it is like that...
