New to me 2019 Expedition XLT

Chrome delete + Gloss black side mirrors and door handles
White Expedition emblem on the tailgate
All new speakers plus 18 inch subwoofer and amp

@rayayayayayayayay Nice work!

Did you wrap the mirrors with vinyl, if so were you able to get it done in one piece?
How did you get the letters white on the back?
Where did you install the new amp, got any pics?
Thanks!

I had the mirrors wrapped with vinyl and they used two pieces. It didn’t turn out very well, though. I’m having them, along with the other parts that I had wrapped painted in Absolute Black like the front and rear bumpers. The shop is discounting what I paid for the vinyl so it’s not so bad.

I got the white letters on Etsy. Here’s the link:

The amp is installed in the storage compartment below the trunk that normally houses the jack. We moved the jack to the other side.
The sound processor sits behind the head unit.

Thanks! The mirrors with wrapped with vinyl but they didn’t turn out as well as I expected so I’m removing the vinyl and having them painted Absolute Black by the shop.

Thanks for those pics and the link! Letters ordered, and I'm heartened to see that a single amp big enough to power everything fits in that spot and that there is lots of space behind the dash. I wasn't sure and I didn't want to give up both spaces in the floor.

Bought some 2022 18" FX4 takeoffs on Ebay for 620 all in - they were brand new and came with TPMS, which was nice. Took them to Costco and had them install my winter tires BLIZZAK DM-V2 P275/65R18 114R. Still need to do a cut off on the rear so the center caps fit, but other than that pretty happy thus far.

Started the chrome delete and badge blackout today…It’s been difficult to find time where my wife isn’t driving it. Will post more photos when completed.
I realize this is a super old post, but did you just plastidip your fender KR emblems? I was thinking about taking mine off, but I fear there may be guide holes underneath. I haaaate the look of these bulky fender emblems!

This week: replaced my PCV Valve due to diagnostic code P04DB. Light went off and has remained off. Really appreciate the fine folks at O’Reilly’s for letting customers use their scanners and overnighting a $8 part for me!

Both front hub assemblies (I still hear grinding though so gotta get that figured out), rear blower motor along with fixing the ducting that came apart and brand new Michelin tires.

For anyone that has used these head rests, they are great for my kids, but the expy has a bit of an issue. I have literally been using these for years, but just found out a couple weeks ago that the headrest design on the 2nd row is a pain in the but. I found out that the headrests were completely loose and would have flown off in an accident but I came up with a pretty simple solution. As you can tell in the pics, the expy has only one adjustment notch on the headrests, which is completely dumb. So I made a second one. My kids love the retractable headrests, they fall asleep in them all the time. Wish they didn't rattle as bad as they do though.

Can you elaborate a little on how you put the extra notches in?

What model do you have, as my 2019 Expy Plat 2nd row headrests have multiple notches and are solid.

Yup, I pulled the headrests out completely from the vehicle, and used an angle grinder to cut the holes, then used a hand file to make sure they were a little smoother with no sharp edges. I actually used the width of the tip of the file as a guide for the distance between notches. was roughly 7/8".

So tired of the painful removal of dog hair off the back of the second row. Really wish the fabric was something different that didn't attract and hold on to dog hair so much and I searched and searched for someone that made something like this, for just the back of the 2nd row. there's stuff out there for the back of the 3rd row, which I already have, but i couldn't really find anything for the 2nd row. So I picked up a roll of black diamond plate floor material, traced out and cut some of it, then put some velcro on the back.

My first attempt didn't go well, I relied on just the adhesive on the velcro and it looked great, until the next day when I was parked outdoors in some heat. the adhesive let go immediately. 2nd time around I used some construction grade hot glue from Surebonder, we'll see if that works. If that doesn't, then I'll have to resort to adding something more structural. I wanted to use plastic rivets, but they stick out way too much on the back.

So far so good, we'll see how it goes.

This week I decided I should replace the OEM tires, and get a new paint job on the rear driver's side door and quarter panel. So I found a nice cable lying in the middle of the highway, sank it into the rear left tire and took it for a whirl /s

Finally switched out the wheels on my 2021 XLT and I love it! I'm a 45yo mom of teens driving a 2WD truck so I didn't feel the need for aggressive tires. I did vinyl on the grill and black lettering on the tailgate not long after I got it last July.
