If you want to play mechanic and install a fuel filter yourself or change your own damn oil...

1. DONT PUT YOUR F'ing pliers on the quick connects...

2. And for god fu$king sakes, don't install the fuel filter backwards!!! $hit! I could give this previous owner a wedgie!... (Some guy named rodriguez it says on the title)

Yo, Rodriguez!, the F'ing "FLOW" symbol on the filter is supposed to point "downstream"... OR for you f'ing noobs, --- that means toward the front of your car!... GAS GOES FROM THE TANK TO YOUR MOTOR...

FUC$! -- ANOTHER previous "carowner special"....

It was the fact that I had to cut the filter out and splice new connectors in... BUT, while doing this (which I already knew I had to do), I noticed the filter was installed backward which "could" be the reason the fuel pump went out and also the reason the car had 'the shakes' and all kinds of other 'issues' I've been chasing all over the place!...

The stuff that completely ****** you off. You know?

no leaks! and shakes are gone...

Brakes now anyone?

Well...... you can only hope the original owner did not do much other "maintenance" to it. Generally the opposite is true. :hmm:

My first thought is, "I hope the PO didn't change any spark plugs...." that could suck real bad.

well at least all that went well. now whats up with the brakes? change the calipers. i did and my brakes work better now then ever. i did the front and they are great. im gonna do rear eventually too. if that doesnt work then just bleed and bleed the system. check the vacuum lines too.

Exactly. The installer obviously had no clue. I blame the manufacturer for not making sensible parts. How hard would it be to have 2 different side ends so this could not happen?

I read somewhere I could run forever on one tank of gas if I go ahead and install another filter backward on the return line right next to it.

wow that really makes me laugh that someone installed the damn filter backwards, like thats just too funny, that reminds me of my previous car, i used to have a cadillac eldorado (I am never buying a GM car again) some moron JB WELDED the ******* motor mount in place after it broke and i found this out when the stupid epoxy gave way and the damn engine tried to jump out from under the hood. I saw so much weird shit on that car and I cant believe how easy it is to work on these Ford trucks compared to a cadillac.

Hysterical thread! I'd totally be "that guy" if I tried to do any of the work myself...that's why I leave it to the professionals!
