Most mileage on Expedition?

I'm thrilled to say that my '99 Eddie Baur has, yes I'm sitting down when I say this, 306,000 miles on it!

The only major thing that has been done is the drive chain (I believe that's what it was!) replaced (about $750) about 180k into it. I remember what it looks like because I asked the mechanic to show me.

I've had the shocks replaces once..and I do the oil regularly..of course.

Besides the pesky moon roof leak (and yes, I squeeze a towel up there when it's raining), the vehicle is incredible! I don't have a lead foot, so I think THAT'S a huge part of the Ford repaying me!

The white color is still nice when I wash it and I still have a good shine after a wax. The heated driver seat is the only thing that doesn't work....besides the air/heater not knwing if it should heat or cool when I ask it to!

I expect it to last a long time...

Respond if you'd like to help me keep it the best car I've owned!

I have a 2000 XLT 2 WD with 203,400 miles. Aside from normal maintenance, I have made the following repairs: starter, alternator, upper and lower ball joints, shocks all around, a couple of ignition coils (4 or 5), I chewed through a bunch of rotors till I learned to go easy on the brakes. I change the oil every 4K miles, and do recommended maintenance every 30K. The vehicle is going very strong, I'm very happy with it and am looking forward to another 100K based on what I've read in this forum.

I have 230,500 miles on my 1998 Eddie Bauer 4 wheel drive. When is it time to look for a new car?

I have 230,500 but I am lucky to get 13 MPG. Do love the vehicle but have spent 500 on new alternator this month and last year several cylinders went. Now I need ball joints. Should I keep going with repairs or look for a new vehicle?

06 is now up to 115k, other than oil changes all I have done is a belt, alternator, plugs, and a wiring issue.

Passed 250,00 shortly after I bought it. 2000, was a family truck then did a few years as a taxi in the family business. Still in surprisingly good shape too.

Not my Expy but the wrecking yard has a 2001 Expy XLT with 412K miles on it which I find amazing but its the 4.6 motor, use to be a Yellow Cab Company Taxi but when I opened the hood there was oil everywhere and there was a huge hole in the right side of the block and the oil pan had a huge crack in it, and that probably explains the reason it was junked.
