cb ants and volt meter came in. ill take pics tomorrow. these ants look just like firestiks, except you cant tune them. as for mounting them. im going to put them right behind the kcs on some metal brackets that i might get from my uncle or old hs auto shop. depends on when i can install them. so soon hopefully! ill take pics of everything tomorrow and the install when i do it!

so i installed my volt meter. wasnt too hard. ran into a few problems, but nothing i couldnt solve. looks really good. stays on while i drive and its off when i turn the key off. i like it! good job to stinger. i recommend it 100%. it comes in red or blue and its very accurate, but i can also turn a screw to correct it if theres any misreadings.

the picture was also at idle. and it goes down a bit when i turn my lights on. i just want to know what it goes to when i have my lights on and my bass hits. haha

im assuming you ran it from your battery right?? ideally you run it from the amp because it tells you what the voltage is at the amp when the bass hits

nope. to the radio. it has 3 wires. constant hot, ground, and ignition on. so radio was right there so easy install. next time i rip apart the dash ill take pics. it works really good. tells me exactly what im getting. i could have moved the ignition on to the blue wire to the amp, cause thats where its getting the voltage from. im a newbee when it comes to wiring stuff up. i can do it, im just not a pro. haha

with that setup all you are checking is if your deck is at a constant 14 volts=p if you use a volt meter at the amp you will see discrepancies from what your singer says. make sure the meter you use is analog not digital. analogs have better response time and you are more likely to see dips in voltage

you can get a spool of 16 gauge wire from radioshack pretty cheap and run it to the amp. if its worth doing, its worth doing it right!=p

thats an idea. but can i also just wire it to see what the whole electrical system says? cause when i turn all my lights on it dips a little. but not much what i think it should. is there a way i can wire it to have it say what my whole electrical system is doing. i mean the way it is it is good, cause when my sub hits the voltage drops and when my lights are on it dips. but i think i should wire it better.

To me the purpose of a volt meter is to make sure the amp is getting the power it needs to not clip. nothing else is really affected by voltage drops. unless its steep so there is no reason to really check it. pro audio guys will have a meter on each amp.

i under stand that, but i have 6 off road lights and a cb/pa thats on a lot. i wanted to make sure i didnt kill my truck one night out in the middle of no where. if i ever get a competition expo i will keep that in mind. thanks though. i was thinking about that.

heres how i ran the cb cables. i had enough to do the passenger side, but not enough to do the driver side. for it only being one its great. i can send messages over 3 blocks away... all i tested, but my uncles jeep ant is the weak link. i couldnt hear him, but he said he could hear me. so it was on his side. i wonder how far i can send when i get them both wired up.

heres the brackets i made. 1/4 steel i got at my old auto shop. it was kind of easy to cut with a hack saw but then drilling holes is hard with a dull bit. had to go buy a new one. and i used my uncles drill press. after it was primered, i painted it, then cleared it. then took the bit and took out the paint that was in the holes. then used a drimmel and sanded down the holes till it was bear metal.
