Thank you Andy. Im look at buying some micro fiber pads to help get in those corners, so my finger dont have to work so hard.
Maybe these.

I've seen a soft buffing conical cylinder that you can attached to the end of cordless drill that allows you to get in the corners. I just can't remember where I saw it now.

You sir got alot of knowledge on this matter [emoji2]
Nice to see someone that can help me in the correct direction.
Everything that I have learned so far is from watching countless YouTube SAS Swaps.
And reading in the 4x4 Pirate forums.
So much so that I know I can do the conversion
Everybody well most people tell me it can't be done or it's a wast of money just go buy a 78 Ford complete running and fix it up.
Well that's a option also BUT it's not what I want to do. I know it can be done on this 04 Expedition it is not much different than doing a 97 Chevy 1500. I'll be doing front and back conversion vs just the front.
I've found a few 78 Ford trucks complete and running on Craigslist for around $4000 to $5000
While trying to find some axles.
I mean how many 04 Expeditions do u see rolling around on Solid Axle Swap..haha
That's one of the reasons why I want to do it to mine and second I love my Expedition.
Now the only thing I'm not sure on is weather or not would I be best to run coils and shocks all around or leafs in back and coils n shocks n front or leafs all around ?
The main goal is that I want articulation/flex
For trails and having fun when we go to the Mud Fests through out the year.
Or possibly 3 link the front and 4 link the rear would give me the most articulation .
But this is going to remain my daily driver afterwards also so I can't be going to crazy..lol
And I'm pretty sure that the rack n pinion steering is gonna have to go ??
As u said a gear box.
The Dana 60 and the 14 bolt are both under the 78 Ford ?
For some reason I was thinking that the 14 bolt was under a Chevy early 80's.
But the Dana 60 axle for the front I knew that I needed but the rear Axle I was unsure of.
But I'll look for a 14 bolt rear also now that u have pointed me n the correct direction.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me it helps a lot when someone isn't as knowledgeable in this conversion.
Thanks again brother

Yeah, I’ve done this a few times.....

The CUCV is military vehicle built by GM from late 70s-late 80s. Basically a 3500 truck or a K10 blazer built to beat the hell out of.

Rack and pinion is going to end up in the scrap parts pile. You will need a traditional frame mount steering box and pitman arm. Not a difficult task. I know someone else retained their stock PS pump for their sa swap. Well, there was a guy who moved his r@p down onto a straight axle for steering. Not sure if he ever got it to work as I stopped interacting with him because he was a “few fries short of a happy meal” if you know what i’m saying.

3link/4link is much more involved, requires ALOT more planning, fabricating and expense. If you want to go that far, just go but a $500 Honda for a dd, as your Expy will be in surgery for a long time.

Let it be known now: this is FAR FROM A WEEKEND PROJECT!!

Well finally got the bumper ready . Next is mating it up to the frame. But that's on hold bc my wife is working weekends now and I don't want to try it with my 4 year old daughter running around in the shop. So this is it's new resting place for a couple weeks.
But today I also got the accent flood lights or whatever they are called I can't remember..
Installed at the bottom of the doors and tied the wiring into the puddle lights in the door side mirrors. I'm gonna rock them awhile to make sure I like them if so I reckon I'll get some for the rear doors.
