Cylinder 1 misfire
IF that doesnt fix it, the next guess would be a bad fuel injector. JUST had this issue with the CEL and Cyl 1 misfire on my sons car and it was a bad injector.- KC Dave

Sounds like the fuel pump to me also. Contrary to above I dissagree, a fuel pump is not just good or bad. The pickup screen can come loose, the pressure dump valve can be bad (Depending on the vehicle type), it can run poorly, etc.. Its all related to pressure. If the pressure is wrong, the...- KC Dave

What are the best spark plugs to use?
Arent the replacement Motorcraft plugs a one piece design now? I would use Motorcraft with no question. These motors just seem to run better with them.- KC Dave

movin on up! (1st gen to 2nd gen)
I assume that they both run correctly... I have an 05, and I actually looked at 3 of them, 2 05's and 1 06 before I bought mine. Listen carefully for any Cam Phaser noise. The one I bought was quiet, but both the other two had some noise.. Expensive repair, so just throwing that out there.- KC Dave

Power Window Switch $$$ WOW!

Expedition broken into
Curious how the alarm didnt go off.. On my daughters Explorer, the lock is messed up and if you lift the handle, the door opens even when locked, BUT, the alarm sounds unless she unlocks it with the Fob. Did you lock it and "beep" the system to set the Alarm? I would sure test the alarm...- KC Dave

POLL: Which engine & 4x2 or 4x4?
5.4 4X4 - 2005 For point of reference, I had an 01 Explorer Sport Trac, 4.0 V6, 4X4. I averaged 19 on the highway, and 14 in town. I traded it in on my Expedition, and I get the same 14 MPG in town, and I get 18 on the highway. For the same mileage in town, and only 1 MPG less on the highway...- KC Dave

06 expy #2 cyl misfire
Ticking may be Cam Phasers, which is an expensive fix.. As for the misfire, does it feel / act like a bad plug wire? I know you replaced the COP and the plug, but did you replace or examine the boot between the Coil and plug? If the boot is torn or otherwise damaged, perhaps it is breaking...- KC Dave

Cruise Control
Depended on the dealer.. Ford's fix was to add the inline fuse and thus IF the issue did occur, it blew the fuse and they werent liable for burning your ride to the ground.. However, if the dealer knew you, some would replace the switch. By the way, the Red one was the "bad" switch, the...- KC Dave

2001 expedition wont start but turns over
Dont forget the Inertia shutoff switch.. Stops the fuel pump and I have seen a LOT of them go bad. On my old 2001 explorer it was in the passenger kick panel, but not sure where it is on the Expy. Engine Ticking Noise
Fanatic, The "throwing a plug" was on the regular 5.4 engine which would stip the threads and spit the plug out. Not the 3 valve 5.4 which had the 2 piece plug as Jourdan said (Those seized in the head). As for the problem in this thread, if it was a noisy injector, cam Phaser, or tensioner...- KC Dave
