I have a 02 XLT with 5.4 and 100% highway, 25.9 gallons to fill up (gas light activated) got me 349.7 miles before gas light came on again. which is roughly 13mpg. That's at 65-70mph.

If you want more mpg, u can make the gap smaller on your spark plugs. But u will be sacrificing power and hesitation and cel will definitely be on at high end. I don't recommend it, but when my spark plugs were not gapped right, I got good mpg of 15.5 on highway but car ran like it had a 4 cylinder it really wasn't smooth

Last tank it got 16.03 mpg that wasn't bad after consider how heavy I was on gas in rush traffic that involved REV to 5K rpm.

After filled tank I reset display it got up 19 mpg after 30 miles of gently driving. Until I turn off for 5 hours and outside got little colder. Now it back to 16.5

I think the colder the worse on gas. I wish there way to make engine reach 190oF instant instead 5-7 miles to warm up.

I average around 13 MPG. If I'm on a long trip and doing mostly highway driving (not into the mountains but mainly flat) I can get get up close to 16 if I keep it 70 or below. On average with mixed driving I am at 13.7 though.

I have replaced my exhaust with a magnaflow system and got ported headers. That helped me boost it minimally for the around town driving.

Im supercharged so I get to gap mine at .35 so my spark doesn't blow out. I get og MPG. I got 13.9 (if I remember correctly) Pulling 4 quads 4 people and trailer for 6 hrs I got better gas milage then the 03 SS silverado pulling the same with two people

The best way to improve mileage is to buy an Escort... serious, our trucks are gas hogs. I've been getting around 13. On the last tank I got 15.25. I inflated all four tires to 45 PSI, removed everything that wasn't bolted to the truck including the rhumba seat, the back rail of the luggage rack, and the bug shield.

Other than that, it's just the usual stuff... go easy on the gas, don't let it idle, etc. I think tires with higher treadwear help out, too. Harder tires have less rolling resistance.

Honestly I'm getting about the same mileage I got in my F-150 when I drove that.
