I am thinking of changing my OEM halogen headlights to match the rest of my leds white lights.
What’s is yalls experience with LED Headlights?
I have used white halogens on other vehicles and they are ok and reliable if you stick to a good brand. I have never used led headlights though.

I'm just copying this from the other thread you asked about led. This thread can get hairy pretty quick so strap yourself in

leds are not designed for a reflector or halogen/hid projector so they look good but ultimately cause even worse night time vision. Plug n play hid have the same issue but they out better light down than a pnp led does. Either one will cause light scatter and possibly blinding oncoming traffic. Even aiming them lower does not rectify the issue even though some may say it will. Lowering them Just cuts back in your distance and in some cases gets the scatter below oncoming traffics eyes

One thing that I forgot to mention is that diode Dynamics is getting ready to release an LED bulb that is designed for a reflector housing and will maintain the original beam pattern

Also I am not opposed to using white halogens since I can buy them at any of the big chain auto parts stores and have warranty if they go bad.

The funny thing about white halogen is they become white by using tinted glass. What are you gaining? Color and less vision. I'm sure people will argue with me on this but it's 100% truth

They are design to produce more light.
Can you prove the only thing you gain is color?

Do I need too? Same wattage through tinted glass so it should speak for itself. Even if that tint is blue it's still tinted and affects light output the same way a smoke tint does. I'll dig up some actual information for you. Give me a few

The only upgrade that's still a halogen is the Phillips extreme vision or osram nightbreakers. I'm on the search for some actual lux readings of oem vs tinted glass bulbs.

LEDs : easy enough to get comparable-to-halogen or better output and has been for a year or two... challenge today is getting comparable-to-HID output

What warranty???

Some of the Sylvania bulbs are literally LABELLED as "service life : 65 hours"

Have fun warranty claiming THAT
