You think the white halogen would be better? I’m 50-50 on those.
I think there are more people on here that would point you to either HIDs or leaving halogens. I’m on the fence

I'd point you toward a projector retrofit but getting into that too much will just drive the thread into the gutter.

But I will say that leds are not designed for a reflector or halogen/hid projector so they look good but ultimately cause even worse night time vision. Plug n play hid have the same issue but they out better light down than a pnp led does. Either one will cause light scatter and possibly blinding oncoming traffic. Even aiming them lower does not rectify the issue even though some may say it will. Lowering them Just cuts back in your distance and in some cases gets the scatter below oncoming traffics eyes

Avoid LEDs in the factory projector headlights. They don't work because the projectors are designed for halogen bulbs the LEDs create light that is outside the sweet spot for the reflector. HIDs work well but don't go above 35 Watts because there are potential issues with the wiring and UV light. Like @gixer2000 said the best way is to retrofit projectors but that takes a lot of effort and requires a certain skill level. Most people don't have that and aren't interested in doing the work.

So I’m trying a slightly different path that I might regret, and if I do I’ll just drop the dough and buy the bright trax that Jski and Andy are using. They look amazing. But I found these which I’m sure are not as bright but much cheaper. I bought the pair on sale from AliExpress for $5.57 out the door total for the pair with the $4 coupon for new accounts. ef7b0e0115446b4b2f54e323d2edd19f.jpg

Question, does the fade in/out work well? I've had interior LEDs that flicker when the BCM fades them on and off.

The LEDs that I have installed on the interior ramp down just like the incandescents do. I bought mine as a kit from a guy on eBay. If you want the link I can look it up.

I promised to post my results when my Chinese LED puddle lights came in. They arrived today packed fairly well. I removed the original incandescent housings. The LED replacements had spades that fit perfectly with the female ends on the mirror wiring. I added some heat shrink tubing to protect the bare connectors, and I know some have had a slightly loose fit on these so I used a small pencil torch to carefully heat the plastic at the base of the expansion/friction latch and spread it open a tad bit more. I let it cool, and installed the lights and now they snap in nice and tight. The lumen count appears much brighter than stock.
They fade fine with the interior lights (cheaper LED’s like this fade in sort of a stair step fashion). For $5 after my rebate, I’m extremely satisfied. Time will tell how long they last. Please excuse the messy garage. It’s not mine, I’m at a friends house. [emoji15]
