I replaced the same heater hose about a year or so ago and don't recall it being expensive.

My Duplicolor experience has been about the same - I have a couple white Fords. They should be honest and change their name to "We Duped You, Its Just Close To The Same Color". As long as it looks better than before & you are happy, so be it.

i haven't had it out in the sun yet, it looks really close in the shop though. i had a bad experience using dupliclolr clear on my last oxford white (YZ) hatch paint job with it adding a yellow hue thats why i switched to a little bit better product.

Did he say 30x40 ft shop, yikes! All I got is a carport. Are those side lights for baking paint? With all that room, I sure wouldn't have used spray cans, I'd have a 8 plus horsepower compressor and use my spray guns. His garage is perfect for a temporary spray booth. I'm jealous.

The only reason i bought it is because the 3v engine is super quiet. almost oddly quiet, makes me nervous now that i think about it.

Now this is a GARAGE....

If you want the grille chrome again, get a can of Spaz Stix Ultimate Mirror Chrome and a can of their clear coat that's made for use with the chrome. If what you spray the paint on is is glass smooth the paint will shine just like a mirror. It can be used to make a sheet of glass (or glass smooth plastic) into a mirror.

To get paint super shiny, wet sand up to 2500 grit, then use a 3000 grit sanding pad. Then get a set of Micro Mesh pads. Lots of work but far cheaper than getting a big metal part chromed. Dunno what it'd cost to have a plastic grille redone with vacuum deposited aluminum like it was originally done.

You mentioned an overnight electric drain in your list. Something to check is the back window wiper. My shaft was frozen and apparently I kept flipping the switch for it. That motor just kept draining the battery daily. Worth a look.
