Used 3 different tuners over the years of which there are many
several of my vehicles have passed state inspections with the tunes installed
Will never agree with you Blackscreen
Why don't you post on some diesel site where your opinions are more "IN TUNE" with them
Never have replaced parts on my vehicles & do not see any need to do so
chart I added couple of pages back clearly shows the potential without any parts mods
Just reprogrammed them & will continue to do so
Seriously doubt any government (EPA) will shut down all these shops
Purchased a 2018 F150 with 3.5L eco boost 3 days ago & installed Hypertech calibrations
Runs great
5150 pops has chosen the parts route but has still found significant improvements with just the boost a max
BTW

Merely state my background when I have done something that people have doubts about indicating I do so preciously because of my background
Not sure why you get your jollies beating up on someone else
adds nothing to the interests of the folks on here interested in a bit more performance & using the full potential of the eco boost engines
Not funny to me:(

BTW have looked on several tuners sites & have seen no evidence they a gong out of business

Your tuners and sites won't ever lead you to believe you won't have support.

That doesn't change the reality that pushing an item manufactured by a supplier and software developer that's literally currently in legal jeopardy of being shutdown is beyond ignorant, it's frankly sad.

Your the only one talking diesel, yet the data you present is the only smoke blowing going on.

So again, you can keep choosing to get offended or post the 4sec 0-60 you said to have achieved.

I highly doubt Jarrold with his new tune will be too happy to call the shop one day and get that lovely, "we're sorry the number you have reached has been disconnected" stuck with a voided vehicle warranty and a tuner that's the equivalent to a paper weight.

For what it's worth, the boost max that 5150 has will create the same low end results the full tune does. Torque is the name of the game. Make the customer feel it harder and faster, and that'll satisfy most.

Why can't you just let those of us who have tuned or otherwise modified their vehicles share their experiences without all the negativity
Do not know what you wish to accomplish other than irritating folks
is that your goal & if so why???

You both make valid points that should be taken into consideration. I have had several tuned vehicles. I enjoy the extra power plus the vehicle and task specific tuning. But as in everything else there can be excess and it will cause issues. Example, I will not tow my 16k fifth-wheel using the 125hp race tune because I do not want to melt or break things. I also refrain from the higher power tunes since I do not like the smoke so I stay with the lower power tunes which are plenty adequate. Being able to merge with a smile has its benefits. Now, as to what Blackscreen67 says, Take Heed. The EPA is cracking down on the tuner industry especially in the diesel market. In some instances when you buy the tuner it will specify "for off road use only" and they will ask for your vin number. If they do so run, since the vin number will be forwarded to the EPA. The EPA will then forward the vin to the registering state with a note not to renew registration since the vehicle is now off road only. Some diesel tuner manufacturers will sell you the tuner and have you download the tune, which will actually come from Canada to circumvent the EPA issue. I imagine it will get the gas engine tuner industry will not be as impacted as long as the vehicles can be tuned and still meet emissions.

Why can't you just use EGT temps to determine if you are overloading the diesel engine?

You have to understand I have no desire to argue.

I'm just outlining how industries are moving and what direction to expect things to go.

Derive is the largest software and hardware company by far for many platforms, all it takes is one bag Apple to ruin the bunch as the saying goes.

For what it's worth. I' happy your tuned setup has netted you desirable effects.

Here's food for thought, I've probably forgotten more about tuning than you have ever learned Schmitty. Ive seen more than my fair share of people grenade their shit by taking bad advice.
