Does anyone else have noisy door panels? My 2018 Limited front driver and passenger panels rattle badly on cracked pavement. I've seen other threads mention squeaking, but mine is more hard plastic rattling against hard plastic loudly. This thread mentions putting a business card where the wood panel meets the door handle. I stuck a piece of felt there and it helped my driver's side, but not the passenger's. I tried to push the felt in where it didn't show and I ended up losing it in the door, so I'm back to where I started. I also sprayed the gaps where the panels meet with silicone lubricant, which helped initially but not long-term. Does anyone else have these issues? I'll probably schedule a service appointment, but I wanted to see if this is common. Thanks!

Pull the panels off and investigate. Probably a wiring harness out of place

I also have an annoying squeak/rubbing sound on my drivers side door panel. Reminds me of something with adhesive sticking and unsticking repeatedly over rough pavement. I have done the business card trick near the interior door release, but mine seems to be coming from the area near the B pillar at the base of the window. I've lubed up all gaskets. I've even taken the interior panel off and greased things up, but the source is still elusive. I'm reluctant to take it to the dealer. Short of replacing the entire door panel, they'll never spend as much time trying to figure it out as I have driving it every day. They'll likely just spray the gaskets with silicone spray and say they couldn't replicate the issue. Mine also seems to manifest itself most on sweeping right hand turns at highway speeds.

Maybe it’s not in the door panel and coming from somewhere else

I found mine. It’s right above the plastic triangle (where you could put a tweeter). The rubber on the door rattles against the plastic.

I've been driving Fords since '96 and I have yet to drive one that didn't start rattling within the first year. My Expedition rattles from a dozen different places. The only one that really irritated me was the one at that rear passenger door. I traced that to the headliner though and saw no way to silence it without pulling the headliner and re-gluing it. I eventually just tuned it out like I have all the other Ford rattles.

I think I finally found the culprit. I ended up taking the interior door panel off again and this time I discovered a piece of adhesive backed felt that was installed over one of the clips closest to the B pillar. The ends of the felt were too long and didn't adhere properly to the door panel so when the door panel was installed it would make the stick/unstick noise over rough roads. I trimmed the ends off and re-installed, so I'll confirm if this solved the issue this week during my daily commute. Photos attached:

Kind of lame you had to pull the door panel off a one year old truck but glad you found something. Sometimes you gotta tackle it yourself.

Agreed. Certainly could take it to the dealer for a warranty claim, but I've had much better success with warranty claims when you can point to a specific part that needs to be replaced, etc. Most techs wouldn't spend the time to figure something out like this and would say they couldn't replicate it, etc.
