Ford has been using the same crap lugnuts for many years now. I had the same issue on my 17 Expy, 2013 Mustang GT and my 08 Expy.

I replaced all of the with McGard lug nuts. They come with a lifetime warranty.

I just replaced all of mine with Gorilla nuts from Amazon. They look much better, and I'll never be stuck on the side of the road with a lug wrench that doesn't fit.

Going through this right now. I managed removing the chrome caps which reduces the size to 20 mm and they still would not come off with a 3/4" impact. So broke out the induction heater tool to get em hot and they just rounded off. Turbo sockets just made matters worse. Drilling or torching them are the last options now so do yourself a HUGE favor and replace these pieces of shit with solids. Pretty bad having to work on your truck to work on your truck! Good luck.

It's not just Ford. Many other car makes are doing it. I replaced all of them on my Charger. I had several that were spun. Basically you just need a large wood chisel and a hammer. Just beat away at it without damaging the studs or rim. Once you mutilate the cap, you can rip it off with pliers to get at the actual nut.

ugh, sorry to hear that man. I had luck pounding a 22mm 6 point onto them, then a 1/2" impact...Obviously you're way past that now.

On another note, I used to live in the finger lakes and spent 3 years driving up to Lyell Ave in Rochester for work every day. Hope you're enjoying the nice weather :)

Is it just one?

Maybe epoxy/weld/braze/solder on a socket, THEN impact that bugger?

Or...possibly... don't impact it, go gentle? You figure that crap is actually wedged in there with some random 3digit number of ft-lbs by some impact-happy technician, or just gradually rounded off on account of being pieces of crap?

Btw a beefy bolt extractor might also do the trick
