The answer for the version of Sync 3.x

3.0 is for 2018 and below (some 2019's)
3.3 and above is for 2019 and above (but not all)

If you are at 3.0, right now that is as far as it's going, unless Ford changes how that is setup...
If you are at 3.2 or 3.3, you will get newer updates as they come out

3.0 does not have enough storage, and is not setup for more than what it has (again unless Ford decides to change that)

3.2 and above has more room as well as better storage layout.

That is a simple way to put it... there are alternatives out there, but not for the novice. 8)

Now you got my attention :)
Do you know how much storage is in 3.0 and 3.3? And storage is not enough for what? Is there anything to do with deleted/hidden CD slot in 2019s?
Asking because I have PITA problem with my lumbar support/massaging control buttons on the driver seat, dealer fixes it by resetting error, but it comes back after a week or so. Thinking maybe it’s time to replace some control modules...

I just bought a 2019 Platinum - July build.

It’s at 3.0 and still shows 18093 as the latest - no updates available.

I believe I when I did the update via the website / USB last week I was at 18093 and SYNCMYRIDE said I had no other updates. But now I saw that it is trying to update over WIFI to 19205 I believe.

what options are there for getting to 3.3 im afraid the 2019 that i just drove off the damn lot with!!!!! is maxed out at 3.0. i would be interested in options to get to 3.3.

i will say this is quite irritating. i have read this is because of a difference of .5GB of storage allocation between 18/19 and 19/20 models. 1GB vs 1.5GB..........you can buy a Samsung 128gb micro sd card on amazon for $15 yet someone at ford decided to not splurge on ample storage in a multi thousand dollar option on a multi thousand dollar vehicle!!! i mean what in the ever loving ****!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

What all is everyone missing out on from 3.0 to 3.3 and above? My '19 is 3.0 as well, version 18 something. Seems to work just fine so far!

I got mine last week a 9/19 build date and I still have the Sync 3.0 and 18093 build. Seems to be pretty random what you wind up with on 2019s.

I tried to update my software to 19205 via WiFi yesterday. It tried to scan for updates for a couple of hours and never completed. Is this common?

Yeah, it seems that this is a big update. The website indicates that it may take up to one hour. engine needs to be running and vehicle stationary when you start, but you can drive after the installation starts.

I am waiting until the next long trip to do this update and I will use the USB method.

I checked owner.ford.com and was able to update to build 19205 via USB. Still Sync 3.0

I got the "update" installed, but it still says my software version is 19149. The update has JR3T-14G381-AS shown as the updated software name. What is the name of the 19205 file?

That looks like the same version. Did that install 19205 in your truck?

I updated via USB a few days ago. It's not very intuitive. My system didn't indicate it was updating, just searching. Then after several minutes it said update complete. Android Auto works ok, but not sure what changed since I didn't use it much before.
