The GVWR gives me pause. My GVWR is 7700 and I'm at max payload and tongue. I suspect the tongue weight on this thing is a fiction. If you could find one under 6K dry that would be better. Also, would advise against towing something this long with a short wheelbase model. The tail will wag the dog. If you're towing with a standard wheelbase you'll want something shorter.

I'm towing with the max platinum. The problem I have is I'm 6'10 so I need something with a tall ceiling. This particular trailer has an interior height of 6"11. So I'm kind of restrictive of what I can get. The max tow with the expedition with a WDH is 9k. So if I carefully load this and stay below 9k will I be ok?

Ohh! Time for one of my favorite games... let's do the math. For a travel trailer, you'll need a tongue weight of at least 12%. And your max tongue weight is 930lbs (per the receiver sticker, or 900 per the brochure). 930 is 12% of 7750. So you'll have to try and keep your loaded weight below 7750. And that's assuming you don't put too much weight in the Expedition. And in reality, you may need more than 12% tongue weight, given that trailer is over 33' long (once you add the spare and the ladder). Can you make it work? Maybe. Will it be a pain in the rear to try and make it work? Yes. And might you still not be able to make it work? Yes.

this rig is pushing it. a very experienced tow driver could probably do it with minimal risk.

Not only does the GVWR exceed your max tow capacity, the frontal area is also bigger than the 60 sq. ft. limitation in the towing guide.

I have a 30' TT that I have towed with my standerd length '09 HD tow package, but not yet with my '18 Max Platinum HD tow. I anticipate that the '18max will do a better job. My TT weighs 6,300# empty and I do tow it empty. I never fill the water tanks and pack lightly on food etc. IMO it is all about the payload of your Expy and not the length. I think you will be right on the edge with the above listed TT, and if you do not go up to the gross weight rating it is doable.

Have you looked at Grand Designs? I don't know interior height but I remember them having more space than most.

Personal opinion here. Don’t tow anything over 27ft with a half ton truck. Or 30ft with a 3/4. Duley is needed anything over 30 for proper stability. You May say I’ll be save and keep it slow. But we all know people don’t. Lol.

There are some things you can do if you are set on this model. Don't EVER tow with the water tank or waste tanks with contents. Keep your guests in another vehicle, keep your material to a minimum. don't relax on these rules. You will find that this length is OK, but I agree with another post, the tongue weight will be closer to 800-900 so get an equalizer hitch of at least 1200 and a good anti-sway bar. I have only done about 6000 miles with a 30 footer (more by now but COVID closed everything). It tows very well, on and off the interstate.
