Or with factory ride height? Where/when do you rub?

Truck will eventually be receiving a 1.5 inch Bilstein 5100 shock lift all around.

I am *considering* 34s (34.3 inch tall by 11.77 inch wide measured on 8.5 inch rim--vs. stock 32.1 by 11 inch wide measured on 8 inch rim).

I would like to run the factory rims and would prefer not add any spacers, but understand that the extra 1.1 inches in height and .77 width needs to go somewhere, so might consider a .25 inch spacer (which I generally do not like doing).

I do not want any rubbing and do not want to start cutting but minor trimming is also a possibility.

With these "mods" combined, I will hope to see an effective, reasonable 2.5 inch overall increase to the vehicle's ride height.

Please post as many pics as you have, if you have them and detail your lift setup, etc.

295/70/17's, so an inch shorter.......on raptor wheels, so same width, just 10mm out more. 3/2 lift. I use a .25 spacer to clear the axle shaft, but it certainly helps clear rubbing and UCA's. U might rub. I honestly think i have about as big as possible but MAYBE a 305/65/17.....but its close right now.

Well it looks great SanMan those are about 33.5's as far as height goes. Any more pictures will be welcome, too since I won't have the lift you have, and I was planning on the 34s and I do not want too much tire with not enough lift...

No lift here no rub running a 275/70 18 which is 33.6" tall according to cooper. Can get a hand behind the wheel at full lock but only a finger upfront. Also have them mounted on method wheels with +18mm offset.

Thx 2019 PE, nice looking ride! Do you have any more pics on the tire "poke"? And what is the method rim's H&W please?
Have you considered the Bilstein 1.5 inch lift?

These things sit so low......i cant image not having the 3/2 if you are going for a 4wd look. Rollin a platinum or stealth on 22's and 45's is one thing, but when you get to 55+ series rubber, you are going into the 4wd look territory.....and stuffing the wheelwell isnt my cup o noodles

@sanman28 you sit level after the 3/2? My FX4 wheel wells measure out level stock & I was curious if it would cause a little reverse rake.

I plan on what I would consider light off-roading/overlanding so the 3/2 won't work for me. I do keep periodically considering the ICONs but the unborn engineering baby in me don't like too much CV angle, and love for my factory powertrain (and eventually extended) warranty. For many, not an issue here but for me it is. I have done the dance with dealerships in the past and prefer not to do it again.

Yes, these things do have neither the height nor the tire from the factory to do anything more than the most mild of off-roading but I feel the Bilsteins and bigger/better tire are my best choice right now.

I feel like there are so few people here with my exact desired setup--to see you know--and not guess, it is frustrating. Or they simply don't know how to use a camera phone and post lol.

I was not level stock.....and its hard to imagine any of them would be. Simply not the design of these vehicles. if i recall correctly, im about 1/4" of being level. So about perfect. Would i have enjoyed another inch or so of lift, sure. I could really jam 33x12.50 in there no prob. But im happy.

I don't have a lot of pictures of the truck but here it is again. 285/70r18 no rub during normal driving. Now that the weather is cooling off here, I'll finally be throwing on the bilsteins. F150 front and expedition rear as has been discussed on here in the past 20201002_082127.jpg

Only lift I can do would be readylift or Icon with the CCD suspension but havent really considered it much yet. Uploaded a pic of more down the side as well.

It is really funny how a pic from one angle can make a difference! That is like perfect "poke" 2019 PE! Just enough to give it a muscular look--the way I personally like trucks.
That looks definitely less than .5 of an inch past the fender, and melted with the curve of the tire as it grows out downward to the hub, right?

Had anyone on here ever used the Bilstein 5100 lift for Expeditions? Seems like everyone goes the F150 route. I’d love to see a picture of the Bilsteins made for Expedition.

You need to ask people that say they have no rub for pictures of the front left tire turned right 11* then a picture of the front fender and tire Then the same tire turned to the left 9* and a picture of the back of the tire and fender. You can see I have trimmed mine and they will still hit off roading. This is where the +18 or more help and the narrower tire help. Full lock and full stuff is the diameter of the tire. Everything else is wheel offset and tire width.

Well I am still waiting on my backordered Expy Bilsteins...

And Foz, I am simply going to wait till I get them (or the ICONS, but I don't think the .65 more of lift with them will make much of a difference in front clearance).

Once installed, on factory 32s, I will get a few thin spacers to measure the front clearances. I have my heart set on a tire that is 34.3 tall and 11.8 wide, so the overall tire height issue will be basically jut out 1.1 inch around, and .8 wider (or 1x1 inch, to keep it simple). I have eyeballed it, and the only things that seem to be in the way are my mudflaps, which will either need to be removed or trimmed. But 1 inch IS a close call and I can see where 33.2-33.6s sized tires CAN make the difference.

I do not have power running boards, and the two areas I can see it getting tight when stuffed could be addressed by some slight cutting or pulling back of the well. I also wonder if folks with taller, lower profile rims have more clearance issues do to the shorter sidewall being more square shouldered, vs. more rounded in some areas? Total speculation, w/o a shred of fact to back it up though...

I am quite frustrated I can't seem to get the shocks so I can produce my own data for this sight to consume. I tend to do quite extensive reporting on my projects, lol.

I know you have worked on this extensively, and will go back and re-read all your helpful posts and PMs.

I think the CV-19 has finally slowed the supply chain and maybe the fires. At work we have not been able to get oil filters, conduit, manholes, concrete, switching gear, you name it.

My point is, I know you want to go out and use yours. So when people say they clear or fit and don’t rub. They might not if you go off roading.
