On my previous '19 Expedition I was able to disable the seatbelt reminder warning chime. Trying to do the same with my '22, but not having any success following the factory instructions on page 52 of the owner's manual. In short, the seatbelt warning light never switches off in Step 2, so I'm unable to complete the rest of the procedure (just proceeding with the instructions and ignoring the seatbelt warning light not turning off also doesn't do anything).

FACTORY INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure that:
• You set the parking brake.
• The transmission is in park (P).
• The ignition is off.
• You close all vehicle doors.
• You unfasten the driver and front passenger seatbelts.
1. Switch the ignition on. Do not start the engine.
2. Wait about one minute until the seatbelt warning light switches off. After Step 2, wait an additional five seconds before proceeding with Step
3. Once you start Step 3, you must complete the procedure within 30 seconds. 3. For the seating position you are switching off, fasten then unfasten the seatbelt three times at a moderate speed, ending in the unfastened state. After Step 3, the seatbelt warning light switches on.
4. When the seatbelt warning light is on, fasten then unfasten the seatbelt. After Step 4, the seatbelt warning light flashes for confirmation. This switches the feature off for that seating position if it is currently on. This switches the feature on for that seating position if it is currently off

Anybody know how to do this successfully on the '22s?

Nope. Still stuck.

The printed owner’s manual that came with my new 2015 Expedition Limited had numerous incorrect instructions and photographs or illustrations in it.

I have never owned a vehicle with such a poorly written and illustrated owner’s manual.

It sounds as though Ford still can’t provide an owner’s manual that is accurate.

Ok I got it to work here the instructions I used.

1.
Before starting the procedure, make sure your parking brake is on.
2. Get inside of the driver's seat and close the door.

3. Turn the ignition to ON but not start (key position 2, or press push to start button
without your foot on the brake if you have a push to start button).

3. Wait 5 seconds, then buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt 3 times with a 1 second pause
between each buckle. Wait 4 seconds, then buckle and unbuckle again. The orange/red
seatbelt warning light should flash a couple times indicating that the procedure worked
and was completed successfully.

5. Voila, if that didn't work, try repeating the procedure with the parking brake OFF.

@Ross583 , you sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

That worked! Took me about half a dozen tries, eventually it worked (with the parking brake off).

Thanks!

For Passenger Seat:
1. Same thing, make sure parking brake is on.
2.
Grab another person.
3. Sit in the driver's seat, have your helper sit in the passenger seat, and close the doors.
4. Turn the ignition to ON but not start (key position 2, or press push to start button
without your foot on the brake if you have a push to start button).
5. Have your passenger do the same procedure listed in step 4 of the driver's seat
procedure or do it for them as they are sitting (Wait 5 seconds, then buckle and
unbuckle the seatbelt 3 times with a 1 second pause between each buckle. Wait 4
seconds, then buckle and unbuckle again. The orange/red seatbelt warning light should
flash a couple times indicating that the procedure worked and was completed

For some reason, to disable the passenger seatbelt alarm, it requires both a driver and
passenger to be sitting in the vehicle.

What he wrote up did not work on my '18; What you wrote up in the original quote from the manual worked like a charm. Thanks to Ross583 too though!

So the procedure from Ross583 will work on the '22 Expedition without waiting for the seatbelt light to go off? I still haven't been able to get it to work.

For those of you who are still having trouble because your seat belt light is not going off in Step 2, stop waiting for the light to go off, just buckle and buckle your safety belt three times. Then it should flash, buckle and unbuckle one more time and it should disable it. Worked on my 2023 Expedition after much frustration waiting for that damn light to go off

Thank you. Finally worked for me too. It only got rid of the chime. I was hoping to get rid of the whole notification screen, but at least it is not ringing anymore....

Thank you for this information. It worked!! Both front row seats in my new 2023 Expy. Owners manual is very misleading and frustrating. It took me over an hour of frustration clicking and unclicking my seatbelt before I finally took to the forum and found the true and righteous path. I wear seatbelts religiously on highway, but nice to be rid of the bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing.....
