It remains to be seen exactly how they implemented the steering wheel joystick-trackpads (or whatever they are)....but when highway/freeway driving with cruise engaged, I can now—just by feel without having to look at anything—tick cruise speed up/down, turn off cruise momentarily if taking a tight offramp curve and then resume, or hit the resume button if cruise disengaged in stop-and-go traffic. If the new 'buttons' do have backlit indicia based on function, you'd have to take your eyes off the road to to look at them to see those current functions. So I guess we'll see how they work soon....The steeering wheel buttons are still buttons, I think they are just “multi function”, ie the ones you need light up when needed. So, for instance, if cruise control is not on, those controls aren’t available. The lady at the demo couldn’t confirm this, tho, so grain of salt and all that.
I noticed the '25 Escalade kept individual buttons on the steering wheel.
