Did the 2022 expedition miss out on the full screen CarPlay option?

What do you mean "full screen"? CarPlay can use most of the screen, but no app uses or is capable of "full screen? Depends on what you are asking about.

My buddy has a 23’ and can expand CarPlay to the entire screen. Mine is restricted to about 2/3 with 1/3 ford apps/widgets. The image below is full screen like his 2023

Your friend may have a newer version of the sync software. Compare yours to his.

My 2018 looks like the picture above, but I did update the sync software a couple years ago.

This works very well on my 2020 dodge charger sxt.

Nope. I leave it plugged all the time.

I ended up getting one from this Australian site that ships internationally, found a coupon code so got it pretty cheap. Hard to resist!! Fingers crossed it works, will report back.

In your touchscreen settings, find the "About Sync" page. What Sync version does it say you're on? It will be a 5 numerical digits that start with a 2.
