Has anyone tried the (big) Sync 4A touch screen?

This has me confused as well. The only 22 f150 I know with the 15in 4a screen is the lightning, not the regular. Did they change this for 22?
No. You’re right. The non Lightning has sync 4, and a large screen. Not 15 though. But many of the features carry over, very similar to what @chicagodawg points out.

Oops sorry for the confusion, her’s is 12”and it’s amazing. I didn’t realize there was a difference. I assume the 15” is as well.

I just picked up my 22 Exp Limited with the 15" Sync 4A package and love it. That thing is incredible.

I hated it when i test drove one. It should be against the law to have something that distracts the driver this much. I cannot stand having to go through three menus with no physical buttons when one button on the other models performs the same function.

The only way i could live with it would be to control everything by voice. It is sweet to look at though.

We've had our Timberline with it for a month. Its grown on me and at this point I like it. Apple Carplay in particular makes it worth it. I think the biggest issue is the limited voice commands as opposed to the screen.

I will say if you aren't comfortable with technology and touch screens its not a good idea. If you don't develop the muscle memory over time to change the A/C for instance it would be distracting and frustrating.

Absolutely love the big screen and sync 4a. Way better system than the previous version, in my opinion, and the screen controls have been easy to pick up, responsive, etc. I think it looks great as well and honestly, probably would have traded our 2019 expedition on the new model even if this was the only change.

I had been waffling several times with respect to the screen. Ended up with the 15 / Sync4a setup. I have rather enjoyed it. Quick, very responsive to input. My hesitation was physical button/dials for controls vs being touchscreen based. However, I realized coming from a Ford Edge sport with Sync3, this was a touch-based setup before and was already used to this.

Would recommend running the unit in "Dark mode" -- It will auto-swap display mode based upon outside light conditions, but the white background is just too bright for my liking, even during the day and after adjusting the brightness of the screen. Been super happy with dark mode.

You can enlarge the navigation to occupy about 2/3 the screen if needed (at least the nav via carplay) which is great.

The downside to the screen thus far have been: 1. The camera is not readily accessible (it is a series of 2 touches in different screen locations to get to it -- IMO should be a button on the home screen, maybe a selectable item in "row 2", or default to that when pressing the expedition icon) 2. It sure is a fingerprint magnet. I need to figure out a solution to this (will likely carry a cleaning cloth?)

Overall, I have been very happy with the system. Would I be bummed with the 12 inch screen? Absolutely not, that screen is awesome too. I would not make a decision of which vehicle to get based upon the screen. Both are great.

Definitely agree with this. Its the only thing I consistently have to menu dive for.

It took me around five minutes to completely figure out the Sync4a. It's fantastic.
