I’ve been wondering if the 4WD version had some way to convert it to 2WD temporarily because well the gas prices are kicking my butt so yeah

It all turns, all the time. The hubs are bolted to differential axle. No locking device.The front wheels should be freewheeling on the hubs when moving and the front prop shafts, differential, driveshaft and transfer case should not be turning.

Brown wire mod possiblyFrom what I know it’s always putting power to the front wheels too, and I don’t want to get rid of the 4WD I just wanted to know if you could get it into 2WD
And I get about 8-9mpg

Ok guys, I searched and could not find anything as far as a write-up for our Expy's relating to the "Brown Wire Mod" that was anything other than "cut the brown wire near the t-case shift motor". I pulled the fuse during the warmer months and reinstalled during snowy freezing months.
Did the same until I could do driveshaft u-joints and boot replacements. Then again due to Tcase chain slap.
