Had to change out the heater water inlet pipe.. Spit it, and rolled it in.. Wasn’t bad at all

Heater return to the pump inlet pipe had to be cut off as well..
The plug on the crossover was cross threaded.. Got that fixed, so now I just need to mount the intake..

Well, while mounting the plenum, I pulled the bolt inserts clean out..
I had the torque set to a lowest setting.. After looking at this situation there must have been inserts washers that should have gone into the new gasket? I had already thrown the old gasket away..
Hamfist?

More update this morning.. Apparently RockAuto doesn’t warn you of bad design parts, but continues to sell them.. They are not the only ones, all the parts vendors do this.. I found that this particular part wasn’t updated until 2002..
Why did it take so long for something so obvious? Yet it’s continues to be sold, mostly to DYI folks that don’t do this for a living.. I was about to make some spacers myself lol

Parts guy was wrong at the local store.. Turns out the 2002 info is wrong.. It came in, and didn’t fit.. I give it back to them, and found my old one, which had the spacers.. Now Im back to normal with the RockAuto part..
Getting old and paying stupid tax..
Glueing the spacers in, then mounting, whew!

Since my next project is checking out the heater lines, and flushing the cores, I decided hold off on putting the intake back on, so it would be easier to work..
I’m making a setup to pressure check, and flush the systems while I wait for RockAuto to deliver my order

Far right line has a leak.. It’s under that gooey insulation somewhere.. It’s hard to get off..To replace this line would require to lift the body, it seems.. If it’s in a uncovered area,I can cut a section and maybe put a hose.. Going to have to think about this one lol.. If I can do it, I can neutralize the line corrosion with maybe 30% vinegar..
May do this later, and just use the front heater till I get to it..
Got to rebuild the front end joints and whatever, after I finish the intake..
Any suggestions would be appreciated..

I looked at search, but did not find what I was looking for..
Is there anyway to test this fuel pressure regulator while in my hand?

Only to blow air into the tube ( where the vacuum line connects...) to make sure none comes out the rail side of the regulator. If air can pass through, that means the diaphragm is ruptured and it's bad.

Now that is the info I was looking for..There was some Blue corrosion looking stuff inside the hole, but I figured it might be from the cleaning I done..Since it was running good before, I will continue to use it.. Thx a bunch, as always!

I determined it was just a intake leak, so I’m going to continue with timing chain update.. I’m not a pro, but I don’t mind a good fight.. Just hard getting around, lol
Whats your mileage?

Does the intake gaskets look right? I had to cut the setting pegs off to get proper sides to fit.. Is this normal with Felpro?

Bill are you the original owner of the vehicle ? 'Cause it looks like you have non-PI heads ? Has the motor been swapped with an older motor ? Do the intake gaskets match the ports on the actual intake manifold you're using ? You're working on a FrankenMotor !!

Yours look like Non-PI heads of the 97-99 Years ?

I bought this when it had 60,000.. I knew something was up when timing chain guides were not what was on the engine.. I kept ordering for a vin 6. I also got the wrong valve cover gaskets, but I got some for W engine and they fit..
So yes, it looks as if it was changed when I got it..
I just mounted the intake..
On the intake the seal is right at the edge when I put them against it to compare.. I assumed it must be ok
Anyway, I Have it torqued first stage only for now..
At least it looks pretty lol
What do I do now? Manoman

Were there any identification sticker left on the valve cover that you could read ? I'd say that's a 97 or 98 motor. Out of a truck or other Expedition. I'd pull the manifold off and get the right gasket kit for a non-PI motor. If you look at the gaskets you can see the difference.

Yes, I kinda knew something when I posted the picture with gaskets on the heads.. I just wanted to see that intake on there anyway.. I should have waited for an answer hehe
No problem, I’ll order the right set hopefully.. I’ve paid enough stupid tax already..
Thx so much for the help, Hamfisted!
