Owned 2007 Expedition EL 2wd Limited for over 6 years, And been trying to find a problem for a few months. Had a vibration on ANY road at different speeds. Sometimes rides very FIRM and sometimes very BOUNCY Even reflectors and painted stripes on the road were VERY rough. Going over speed bumps felt like riding on basket balls bouncing. Hitting small potholes bottoms out and hear metal on metal slamming together like a bad strut. I replaced Complete strut/coil spring assemblies AND new tires. STILL bad ride.
Then Noticed it.... 4 Body mounts in the center were completely GONE rotted away! Position #3 and Position #4
Dorman Products part# 924-064 will work for these positions as well Position #1
NOTE: Dorman and Ford Dealer Claims the part number of position #1 and #3&4 are different. However... They WILL WORK

I replaced the 4 mounts in the center And...WoW! Instant Success! Nice Smooooth Ride Now

Here is a Youtube link for someone doing it:

You stated 4 mounts, but I looked under mine and have 6, was a little confused. One on each corner and then one in the middle on each side. I layed on the driveway last night to take a look and touching the ones on the drivers side middle and rear.....they just crumbled, literally. I've also been chasing a vibration in the vehicle at all speeds (worse on the highway) and have the same symptoms you posted.

I'll probably tackle this when the weather turns a little cooler. I just ordered 4 mounts off JCWhitney for $115 shipped. Thanks for the great video!

Actually From front to back...there are Total of 10 On mine. However the only ones that were bad was the 4 I'm calling the Center.

Directly under the Front row Driver& Passenger seats
And Directly under the second row seats
: Ford calls them Position #3 and Position #4

I cut a hole right above them... In order to Spray (Deep Creep) Penetrating oil to soak for a few hours then was able to loosen all but 1 ..And that one I had to hold the nut from the top (22mm)

Makes sense cause my kids were complaining about it the vibration that felt like it was right under them in the second row. That was the one I barely touched with my hand and it crumbled. I'll start with the four you did and go from there. Both my brother and I used to race cars in SCCA Solo so we are usually pretty good on these things (him more than me). I have no doubt we can tackle it a 3 hours and with a few beers. Thanks!

These vibrations were like chasing a rabbit down a hole. I told my garage to check all the mounts when they balanced all the wheels/tires, replaced some stuff for me....obviously they didn't (********).

I had to replace the alternator last night. Died on us when I was in Columbia, SC for the UGA/SC game. Initially thought it was just the battery, but then I got a battery message on dash yesterday coming home from work. Always "something!" I swear.

One thing that just came to mind. If you have rear air suspension don't you have to do something to "lock" it before doing this so you don't damage the air bags. I've never messed with it so just asking.

I don't have Air Suspension on Mine. But.... I would think your suspension on the truck won't allow it to travel too far to damage anything. The Suspension should only travel so far at all times.

I used about 8 solid 2x4's Stacked up against the pinch weld of the body(right where the running boards mount) And a Standard size floor jack. Went as high as it would go and it was JUST enough. Used a couple jack stands to make it Safe. Got it done ASAP then let it down to install bottom part of mounts.

ALSO One More side Note: The rear bumper has 2 push rivets that fasten it to the frame! Ya may want to remove those. Mine ripped at the seem due to the body lifting away from frame.
