I am new here and so is the 2011 Expedition EL XLT I recently took over from a colleague of mine. It has 100,000 miles. He never drove it in Winter since he lives in Texas. I live in Montana and Winters are a bit cooler up here.
I noticed that even with the fan going full throttle, the temperature set to HOT, and the selector switched to 'floor events only' there is hardly any warm air coming out the floor vents in the second row (floor vents under the fronts seats). In fact hardly any air is coming out of the floor vents in the second row.
I read in the the service records that the control module was replaced and that the stepper motor was replaced some 20,000 miles ago.
The roof vents for the second row have warm air coming out like crazy (like a hair dryer) in the set up described above.
Is there a valve or gate that distributes the air between roof and floor vents for the 2nd row? where?
Is this a problem someone has experienced before?
Where do I start to look for the problem?
I do have rear vent/temperature/fan control. The temperature control seems to be working but the rest?
I am a bit clueless.
